making New Sage Server Need setup advice

I just bought the interworkings of my new system.

Motherboard: Asus ASUS A7N8X Deluxe
CPU: Atholon 2500
Ram: 512 Kingston DDR 233
CPU fan: Zalman CNPS7000A-Cu CPU Cooler
Capture Card: PVR 250
Case: Spare tower not sure what I want yet

I plan on removing the hard drive from my Sage Server in the bedroom that is a M1000 mini-itx and replace it to the system I am building above. I then plan to install a 40gig Maxtor(extra HD I have)into the bedroom system. I want to keep attached the DirecTV system in the bedroom to the M1000 that has its own capture card and attached another DirecTV box in the living room to the system above. They are networked by a Netgear wireless G system. The reason I want to do it this way is I don't have the room at this time for 2 receivers in the living room. At the same time I want to keep the bedroom hard drive from recording when we are not watching TV. Will this work or do I need both capture cards in the same system connected to both receivers.
