How to get sound via PVR-150 Composite?

I have a Hauppage PVR-150 running with SageTV (source = PVR-150 Tuner). I have also connected a VCR to the PVR-150, the video to the PVR-150 and the sound to the Line-In of the soundcard. I have added to SagTV an additional source (PVR-150 Composite) and channel.
The aim is to be able to record/transfer VCR video to my PC in mpg.

Here you'll find the thread on how to record without guide (SageTV is guide based).

I still have one issue to resolve, I have image but no sound. With Hauppauge WinTV I had both, but can just not get WinTV to run on VISTA (missing dll's).

I believe the problem may be linked to the 'split' delivery, video via PVR-150 and sound via Line-In of the soundcard. Hauppauge's WinTV seems to be able to 'merge' these input, SageTV seems to require both to be delivered via the PVR-150.

I know I have sound coming in, as the sound window in VISTA does display a gauge and it does move when the VCR is playing. And this puzzles me also a bit, as I would expect the soundcard to play the Line-In sound via the speakers ... but it doesn't.

Has anybody has experience with above and/or suggestions on how to resolve this?
Else I have to get an old VCR which can also be receive via the Tuner.

Jan

You lost me, are you already using the line-in on the pvr-150 for another source? If not, why not hook the audio from the vcr to the line-in on the pvr-150.

IF it is already being used, maybe you can use this, http://registration.hauppauge.com/we...oduct=av_cable , to add a second A/V input.

I have been grumbling for hours that this did not work and it worked before. To finally only now realize it should be in the PVR-150 Line-In, not in the soundcard's Line-In. It worked in the past, months ago, and I bet I did at that time correctly put it in the PVR-150 Line-In.

For some bizare reason I saw the 2 PVR-150 jack connections as one being for the IR receiver and the other for the IT transmitter, but of course they share on jack. The other is the Line-In.

I now humble hide myself under a sheet out of shame (and anger for the lost time by my stupidity).
