DVI Goes Blank & Loses Sync?

I think I may have posted this problem before a LONG time ago and it indeed went away with one of the drivers I downloaded...

I have a 9600 now because my 9800 croaked and if I turn off my TV (Samsung 42") and leave it off for a while (maybe a few hours it seems) the DVI no longer emits signal. The PC still works fine and if I login to it remotely and change the resolution it kicks the DVI signal back on...

This is very annoying and I have no clue how to fix it. This is a brand new install with CCP 7.5 drivers. Any ideas?

I fought this problem what seems like a long ways back. Its an issue in the drivers best I could tell... the problem finally got fixed with a certain version... I'm sorry to say that it was long enough ago that I don't rememeber the version.

As I work around... I setup a key on my remote using STUDIO to reset the resolution.. down to say 640, and then again up the 1280... this always woke up the display for me.

Try using VNC or something to get into the box and change resolution and see if the display wakes up.... if so then you could use a work around like this until you can get drivers working or updating display card.

Good Luck... if I can help let me know... I'll do the best I can!

Guess I should have read your message a little closer... you've tackled the changing resolution part... So a work around with a external program to change rez would fit your bill I think!

I used something like this http://www.softpedia.com/get/System/...esChange.shtml (not the exact program but still and CLI Rez changer) setup in studio to call it with a "Custom" button.. and it was a good work around!

Sage remaining black have anything to do with FSE?

I didn't experience this issue when I was changing resolutions. Video cards are cheap... maybe you should just pick up another. Good time to get HD ready!!

Sorry for the lack of help!

It's not just SageTV that blacks out... It's like the ATI cards give up on emitting DVI signal after nothing has been connect to them for a while...

Yea upgrade hardware that isn't broke to make software work....
