MVP's and Sendmessage Utility (SageApp/SageClientApp)

Just to double check, it appears to me that the "SageApp" and "SageClient App" SendMessage utilities CANNOT send any messages to MVP's. Is this correct?

I HAVE been able to get sendmessages to control my server machine Sage interface using "SageApp". Since I have no Sage Clients (only MVP's), I was hoping to us send messages to control the MVP's. Is this possible?

SendMessage just sends Windows messages to a SageTV UI instance.

To have the server send commands to a remote client (MVP or Placeshifter), you would have to have something running as part of the server that could send commands to a remote client. Nielm's webserver can be used to control a remote client & someone may be working on another type of contral app to do that. Check out the webserver in the customizations forum.

Yup Niel's webserver rocks! Ditto to the customizable menu!

As far as I know the MVP needs to be connected and configured before you can control it. Basically look at the URLs in the webserver and you'll quickly figure out how to use it for your needs.

Wget (command-line web-page retrieving tool) is very useful for this purpose...
