Favorites: SD vs HD?

Here's my dumb question: when recording favorites, if a program is available in SD and HD, isn't Sage supposed to favor the HD one?

In my server, I've got two ATSC tuners connected to an antenna and a PVR-150 connected to a DirecTV box. My local channels are available on the D* box as well as OTA.

Ever since I reconfigured Sage as a client-server setup (previously I had 2 standalone HTPC's), it's now recording the favorites on the PVR-150 instead of using one of the ATSC tuners (there are no conflicts that would prevent use of them).

I've tried setting the encoder merit higher on the ATSC cards but it seems to have no effect.

Channel lineups seem okay, the locals are selected for all cards.

Anyone have any ideas what I should check next?

Running Sage 6.1.9 with Java 6, server and clients are XP pro.

Sage only favors HD programs if the HD flag is set. Some stations (PBS Digital) don't flag the majority of their content as HD, even though it is.

Simplest fix would be to limit your favorites to only record on the HD channel.

Well I guess that would explain it!

Still odd that the encoder merit setting didn't have any effect, but I guess I can just reconfigure my favorites to work around the problem.
