So here is my OOB experience upgrading from 6.1.9 to 6.2.4 on my test box.
Basic System:
6.1.9 Editorial: My experience was less than desirable and I never upgraded my production box off of 4.x because of this. Problems I could not overcome:
So far, so good ... Did the usual, backed up SageTV folder and installed 6.2.4 over 6.19 with some concern that problems would carry over. The good news is;
Weid things happen?;
My initial impression is much more positive than 6.1.9 and do expect some issues based upon the fact that it is beta and I see others have found bugs, but so far this one has gotten over some of my bigger show stopper issues. I'll post back as I proceed. T. Last edited by mightyt; 07-04-2007 at 03:46 PM. |

Hmm, first thing I'd guess is that Sage is showing zulu time, instead of PDT time, which is 7 hours ahead right now. Is it 7 hours or actually 7:20 fast?
That was a common issue with VIsta and Sage if you were using Java 1.4 or 1.5. The fix was to update to Java 1.6, but I see that you already have that listed in your OP.

You know what? You may have a point. With my Sage Test Server remember upgrading to Java 6.0 during the DST change back in March. Installing the 6.2.4 Client on my other Vista box I recollect seeing Java 1.4.x installing. I'll bet you nailed it ... I'll upgrade Java an let you know. Side note: I would think that a new version of the Sage install should be smart enough to know if I am using XP or Vista and provide the current version. Thanks for the tip! T. Oh ... And it was exactly 7 hours ahead ... |

Just noticed another odd thing with this release. Without reason when I go in to Impoted Videos and Photos the number of Rows and Columns change. Usually from I think 4 Rows & 4 Colums (if I rememberthe numbers) after install to 5 Rows & 1 Columns (where it is now). I have seen it flip twice now ...
I'll watch this and report back ... |

The clock thing is a java issue with Vista. Upgrade to java 1.6 and it will fix it.

Mightyt,
Are you able to record to / playback from your NAS? How many tunners? I'm just wondering if it is fast enough for say 4 tuners recording while streaming out a couple HD programs? Thanks Deadbolt Quote:
