No audio on channel4 or E4
SageTv working fine, but in with placeshifter I cant get audio on the just two channels channel4 and e4, If I keep switching off and then back on to these channel I do manage to get the sound after about 5 attempts.
All other channels work perfect? Any Ideas - regards, Jason |

I had this issue a few releases back. What version are you using?

This is a real pain also if you try transcoding the stream to DivX - a lot of software picks up the wrong track, Sage is obviously recording the audio tracks in a peculiar way. If you keep listening, you should eventually hear something on the track because it generally picks up the audio commentary track.
Anyway, add this registry key and it always seems to pick up the correct track and doesn't even record the others: Code:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Frey Technologies\Common\DSFilters\TSSplitter] DisableMultiAudio=dword:00000001

In sage client you can select the audio track if there is more than one but that option doesn't seem to be there in the placeshifter

No, because PS is expecting transcoded content which would only have the main audio track anyway...

cheers for the advice - the version is 6.1.9 (I think that is the latest) regarding the suggested regedit is that on the server or client running placeshifter?

Server. Existing recordings will still be screwed, new recordings will work. Might be worth logging it as a bug anyway, see if you can progess it...

I had this issue as well. The reg entry fixes it for new recordings but as you say - my old ones are still screwed...

You can generally watch them in WMP, PowerDVD etc. so you can catch up...

T,
I'm using the client on the same pc as the server running as a service. It affects more4 too as well as the other channels mentioned before. Pete.

Why don't you give it a go with PlaceShifter with and without the reg entry - then we can see if we have the same issue?

well, with place shifter on a macbook pro all audio works fine with the reg edit in place. Will try later with reg edit removed.
Pete.

Hi All
Since installing my new Nova-T stick, I seem to have this problem too (no audio both in server & client - not tested placeshifter), Its not just C4, but More4 & E4 as well. I tried the registry entry and all that seems to have done is remove the choose audio channel when I press 'OK' when the channel is on. I was wondering if i can force to a different channel in my frq file ? I have : CH:9 onid:9018 tsid:8197 sid:8384 frq:482000000 band:8 ctrl:1 #:Channel-4 Isn't one of them the audio track ? Thanks Tim

No, none of those is the audio track. By default Sage records all of them and historically has had trouble selecting the correct one for E4, C4 etc. The registry setting just forces it to record one, and in the past it has forced it to record the correct one. Sounds like with this device and your setup it's not doing that. Your best bet is to raise a support request so Qian can have a look at it, I know he's working on fixes for some DVB problems at the moment.

I have submitted some logs to support - but I urge others to do so too as it can only help them narrow down what the issue is.. T |

I fixed my audio problems with these channels by switching to the Cyberlink decoders

I've been in touch with support and intend to send them some logs but will try the cyberlink decoders tonight.
Cheers Tim
