Probably because you haven't given a lot of info and not a lot of people are doing this. cctv is closed circuit tv but what type of output connection do you have? In the states the analog cards usually have s-video or composite in. If you can connect your cameras to that and define a channel in the guide for s-video or composite in then that should work for you. Search in the forums for connecting a vcr to a Sage system and extrapolate from that.

Well.. You say you have Nova T but don't say where you are. So, if you have NTSC capable analog tuner check out this:
http://www.channelplus.com/products_rf.html#modulators 3 channel runs about 125 USD If not, find yourself a modulator which makes sense and use a RF combiner with filter traps to pull it into one feed. B |

Think ive worked out the best way to do this, Im going to buy a DVR with a built in 160GB hardrive which outputs in BNC and VGA so I will connect the BNC to a Analogue tuner (UK) and the VGA to the monitor even though I dont need to connect the VGA but thats just in case of the HTPC failing, does that sound like a good idea or not?

Works, I do it all the time.
You usually don't have to buy another tuner, if you have analog cable just plug that onto an available baseband input and map it. |

Hi Colin,
Thanks for your reply, could you explain how you go about connecting it without an analogue tuner, I have 2 x Nova T-500 which run the DVB, I cant connect into them> Jack |

wouldnt it just be easier to purchase a dvr dedicated to this purpose, Or even just the pc card? I have seen 4 channel cctv pci cards for for as little as $50 us, And thats with the software and I have seen whole units for as little as $150.

That is what I have decided to do as Colin stated that it works, im just going to buy a DVR with 160 GB hardrive so it doesn't interfere with the operation of the Media Server, but I will map the output as a channel therefore giving other MVPs in the house the ability to watch the CCTV. |
