IR Remote Powerup
I just discovered a company called Simerec (www.simerec.com) that produces a programable IR activated switch that shorts the two power switch MOBO contacts together to start an htpc from either a cold start or S3. No soldering, just changing the power switch connector and a couple crimp connectors. Then program it to any IR code you choose and the HTPC starts right up!
I bought two and they work great for both of my HTPC's.  Currently $24.99
