Does the networking combo come with a actisys?
So I got the pvr250 networking combo($189) for X-mas and I was rummaging through the box and I couldn't find the actisys that I could have sworn was apart of the bundle.

The IR-200L is not a part of the Networking Bundle. It's an additional $40 through our Online Store: http://store.freytechnologies.com/Me...tegory_Code=HD

Ok,
Well I ordered a USB-UIRT today and I noticed the plugin that was posted awhile back. I have a remote wonder ATM with the 1.4 plugin. Do I just install the USB-UIRT pluggin and off to channel changing I go? |

USB-UIRT is an IR receiver and blaster. This is for use with just about any IR remote control unit you might have. ATI Remote Wonder is a RF remote control. This will only work with the USB receiver it came with. You're not going to get your Remote Wonder to work with your USB-UIRT.

The IR blaster part of the USB-UIRT should still work fine for changing channels on an external deivce.* The one thing about the USB-UIRT is that you will need to program Sage with your Cable box's remote. Sage does not yet come with prebuilt IR files for the USB-UIRT, but it's easy to do. It only took me about 5 minutes to teach and test my cable box's IR codes from Sage. Now Sage controls my cable box perfectly.
I don't see why you couldn't control Sage with the ATI remote and it's hardware and then have Sage pass commands off to the USB-UIRT when needed to change channels on an external device. You can also use the USB-UIRT to control Sage with any InfraRed based remote as gplasky states. I have Sage setup so that both my remote and my wife's remote can control Sage. The only trick is to figure out which remote buttons make sense to link to which commands. You want something that is logical and easy to remember when your using you IR remote. *You don't need to use the IR blaster to change channels if you have analog cable and use the coax input of your PVR250. I use my 250's coax input to receive all my analog channels. I also use an RCA(my cable box lack SVHS out) cable to connect my Digital cable box to the RCA input of the PVR250 to record all my digital channels. This allows me to use my digital cable box for "regular TV" when Sage isn't using it. Just be sure to remove any channels that overlap your two input sources. This forces Sage to choose the analog source whenever possible.

Well I have the pluggin for the remote wonder so I can easily navigate the menu with it and the have one of the buttons programmed for liveTV.
So I can better prepare for the USB-UIRT arrival. 1)Typically how long does it take from the depressing of the button on the remote control to have the channel then change on the TV. 2)What is invloved in programing the USB-UIRT and is there a place I can get some documentation for this? |

1)I've never really actually timed it. But on my system when I select a digital channel from the guide it seems to take about 2.5 seconds for the change to occur on the cable box. There will then be another 1.5 second delay as the PVR buffers and encodes the video. The first delay of IR transmission time can be adjusted some, but change the speed too much and the digits won't be recieced accurately by your cable box. The second delay is just inherent in all PVRs, including my Tivo.
Hopefully in Sage2 there will be a way to tell sage to start the next recording X milliseconds after the channel change is sent. This would do away with the few seconds of another channel that are often recorded into the start of a new recording when using an IR blaster. The second delay is not noticed when watching recorded shows. 2) As for instuctions Sage pretty much prompts you thru it. But read this thread this thread for some of the requirements. It also lists handles some of the more common problems/fixes that a few USB-UIRT owners have run into setting up Sage with the USB-UIRT. Best of luck, I hope this helps.
