STV on Media Extender
What is involved in running an addon STV on the Sage Media Extender? I've got one coming and want to run the same STV that is on my other clients on the extender.
I'm using a modified SageMC as the STV. btl.

Same exact process as setting up stv's with the clients. The only thing to watch out for with MVPs is you will probably want to disable the UI animations as they don't work properly on the mvp (really slow at times). Other than that--it is just as if you are using a client.

So when setting up a client (or the server for that matter) to use an STV or STVi, it usually involves unziping some files into the SageTV/SageTV/.... directory. I didn't think there'd be access to the file system on the MVP........

The extender (MVP) and placeshifter clients (both are remote clients) connect to your server & load an STV from there. So, yes, you would need to install the plugins on your server & then you can load the STV or import an STVi while using a remote client. If you have already done the import on the server, you can probably just load the resulting custom STV while using the remote client, unless the import process sets some local property values as part of it initialization. Normally, you wouldn't need to run the same import on each remote client -- just run the import once & then you can use it frmo any remote client.
Remember: the SageTV Client app is different in this regard because it has the STVs and other plugin files installed on the actual client PC & loads the files locally from there. - Andy
