No audio with HD in Sage Client, Audio fine in WMP.
I can't get audio on my client with HD recordings since installing nividia PV, it playsback fine in WMP.
Previously I was using Sonic for a decoder and it worked fine for audio, I was getting a bit of stuttering with with HD though. Now with PV, picture is great but no audio in Sage.

I just upgraded SageTV to the latest version and noticed the same problem (I use the Nvidia PureVideo audio and video codecs). Sage had re-enabled or updated ACFilter and that was intercepting the audio (GraphEdit showed it inserted between the Nvidia Audio Decoder and the audio out device). In AC3Filter properties on the System tab I selected Prefer other decoder in the Filter merit box. That cleared things up for me.

I still cannot get audio from PV in Sage.
For HD audio I was using AC3 Filter and it was awful. PV audio works fine in WMP, in Sage no. Sage is set to default, and is sending audio to PV, but I don't get audio. Any suggestions. Sage (most recent) Client, Windows XP.

I've seen this behavior (problem) using pv also. I've just gone back to using nvidia audio to confirm. What I find is that my older recordings that were made on an analog pvr150 have audio. More recent recordings that have been recorded from dvb via a nova-t do not have audio.
I have found that changing my mpeg II audio decoder filter setting to use AC3Filter resolves the problem and I get audio for all recordings. This seems to be necessary on both my main htpc box which is connected to a 5.1 amp and also on my pc which runs sage client and has only stereo out. I put the problem down to the recordings having 5.1 encoded audio and me being too tight to have purchased the gold or platinum decoder pack. From the Nvidia site here; Bronze Includes all video features. Audio features include support for: 2-channel stereo output Gold Includes all video features. Audio features include support for: 2-channel stereo output Dolby Pro Logic surround sound Dolby Digital 5.1 Dolby headphones Platinum Includes all video features. Audio features include support for: 2-channel stereo output Dolby Pro Logic surround sound Dolby Digital 5.1 Dolby headphones DTS (Digital Theater Systems) surround sound format Which license are you using? For what it's worth, I had problems with the volum level of AC3Filter before I upgraded to a newer version and tweaked the volume settings in it's control panel. http://ac3filter.net/projects/ac3filter afaik the version of ac3filter included in Sage was updated with 6.2 so I'm not sure that an upgrade would resolve any problems that you might have with it. What was awful about it? Mick. |

Well no joy using anything other than AC3 Filter for audio.
Good news is, after spending some time screwing with AC3 it is working in an acceptable manner. Oh well.
