PVR-150/SageTV CPU usage?
I recently installed a PVR-150 and am getting a CPU usage value of around %70-90. Does this seem right? I though the PVR had hardware encoding.
CPU: AMD 3500+ GPU: Geforce 6600 RAM: 1GB |

You've got a problem. With that setup, I wouldn't expect your usage above 30% (even that might be a high number).

using as the video decoder & renderer. Note that if you are using VMR as the renderer & you are putting playback on a 2nd monitor, 3D is emulated on a secondary monitor, so whichever monitor is used for playback needs to be set as the primary monitor. - Andy

Thanks for the sugestions guys. Here are my decoders:
Default: 9-10% Nvidia Video Decoder: 10-15% Nvidia video Post Processor: 35-40% SageTV MPEG video Decoder: 25% ffdshow MPEG-4 Video Decoder: 80+% I played around with them the percentages are their respective CPU usages in my system. Mine was set to use ffdshow. I did apply some rather agressive settings to ffdshow for use with TheaterTek. So what decoder should I use? ffdshow does look the best but it sometimes taps out the CPU and causes stuttering, so thats a no go. The differences between the other decoders wasnt as aperant to me. What decoder does default use? what decoder should provide the best reults (sans ffdshow)? |

Nvidia Purevideo is your best bet. I always recommend that for Mpeg2 recordings.
