Channel Lineups Empty?

Today I noticed that the two "EPG Lineups" that I have configured no longer contain any channels, which as you can imagine is a problem! There are no longer any recordings scheduled, and no longer any channels to view.

I am using the default Sage EPG. I can select other nearby channel lineups (i.e. next town, etc.), so it appears the service is somewhat working. My existing lineups are still listed in the Setup Wizard, but they contain no channels.

Anyone else seeing this?

Maybe this is just fallout from my provide switching things around two weeks ago.

On 8/18, Comcast radically changed the channel lineups here. At that time, about 50 new channels were added and 130 channels were moved to new channel numbers.

Although Sage's built in EPG picked up the changes, not all of the related EPG lineups were updated:

OLD - Comcast Loudoun Co/Sterling Digital - Sterling
NEW - Comcast Loudoun Co/Sterling Rebuild Digital - Sterling
OLD - Comcast Loudoun Co/Sterling Rebuild Lineup Non-addressable Cable Ready - Sterling
NEW - Comcast Loudoun Co/Sterling Rebuild Lineup - Sterling
OLD - Comcast Loudoun Co/Sterling - Sterling

So I switched everything to the two that had been updated.

As of 9/2, these lineups look like this:

OK/NEW - Comcast Loudoun Co/Sterling Digital - Sterling
EMPTY - Comcast Loudoun Co/Sterling Rebuild Digital - Sterling
EMPTY - Comcast Loudoun Co/Sterling Rebuild Lineup Non-addressable Cable Ready - Sterling
EMPTY - Comcast Loudoun Co/Sterling Rebuild Lineup - Sterling
OK/NEW - Comcast Loudoun Co/Sterling - Sterling

So the two that had been updated on 8/18 are now empty.

Very confusing.

Check this FAQ -- it has a few things to try & contact info for reporting EPG issues.

Andy,
Thanks for the pointer. Turns out that our old Series 1 TiVo caught the change too, so it's not something Sage specific. At this point I'm assuming it was additional "cleanup" of the lineup names related to the major lineup changes that happened here a few weeks back.

My concern (and I've asked support to forward my concerns to the developers) is that Sage's behavior in this case is not very user friendly. The channels all disappeared, there was no notice or warning. Nothing could be recorded and nothing could be viewed on Live TV.

The Tivo, by contrast, took a more cautious (and helpful) approach: There was a message that my lineup had disappeared, but it didn't delete any channels or stop recording anything, it just kept using the existing data it had before the lineup disappeared. In this case, since the lineups were exactly the same (really only the names had changed), I didn't lose anything and shows kept getting recorded.

The whole lineup going away or being empty is pretty catastrophic so notifying the user and continuing on with the existing data at least has a chance of not missing recordings. And really, it's more likely that it's a situation like mine (lineup names changing) than the provider removing all the channels I receive. :-)
