easier way to get closed captions on hauppauge 350 ?
I've been using closed captions on the hauppauge 350 (3 of them) for some time now. The only problem is the process that I have to go through to get them to work. Whenever the pc is rebooted, I must do the following to get the captions to show up:
1. from the program guide, pick a channel and watch it. no captions show up. 2. stop the playback. 3. watch the channel (or any channel) again. the captions now show up. 4. record the channel and stop playback. this allows me to get to the next tuner. repeat the above for each 350. 5. I can then cancel the 3 recordings and the tuners from now until the next reboot will record the closed captions. I've checked the recordings made without doing this process with mpg2srt and there no captions in them. Anybody know how I can get the captions to work without having to 'prime' the tuners ? windows xp home hauppauge drivers 1.18.21.22301 sage 6.2.10.152 |
