Wireless MVP connects but can't get IP

I'm trying to set up my wireless MVP, but when I enter the network info, it says it connects to the router but can't get an IP address.

Reouter is a Netgear 614, and I've tried with 64, 128 WEP and also no security. Same result with all three. I don't have any restrictions set on the router, and I have another computer that has no problem getting on the wireless network. Three computers are using DHCP without a problem It's only one floor up, about 15ft away from router.

Does anyone have any ideas on why it can't get an IP address from the router?

I have found that the MVP's are very fussy what make and model of routers they will work with - For example I have two linksys routers one will work and the other won't.

I have a Linksys RT31P2 providing DHCP ip addresses to my MVP's

Thanks

very fussy. be sure to disable all non-IEEE 802.11 options in your w-router such as turbo, frame bursting, etc.

And the MVP seems to need to be powered off so that somehow it forgets something related to reusing an old or expired DHCP grant, or some such.

And the ARP tables in your w-router may need to be flushed (power cycle) when the MVP gets into an uncooperative mode. I fought this for a LONG time.

Once it starts working, it works reliably, for me, if you don't change anything!

It really gets confused if the server's IP addr changes.
