installing new versions of customizations

I just want to make sure I have the process right for installing new versions of customizations..

I have the latest version of Sage 6.2..with several customizations loaded

1) go to set up --> detailled setup --> advanced -->
SageTV application package ---> SageTV3.xml (this gets me back to the start, like when I first downloaded and installed 6.2)

2) Once that is loaded..I will then download and expand each of the latest versions of the customizations. (updates for new customs...but, is it ok to write over the old ones?)

3) Then, set up --> detailled setup --> advanced --> Import SageTV application package ---> and I load each one as normal.


is this correct?

looks good.

you can usually overwrite the old import files with the new import files (unless noted otherwise, haven't seen this).

The way of going back to the original SageTV3.xml and reimporting all the currently wanted customizations is the best way to do it. That way you don't have any issues with reimporting an import over itself.

edit: IF you have a lot of plugins that you import, you may want to look at flachbar's STVi importer, makes quick work of batch imports.
