Tuner issue after HDHR install
Hi!
I seem to be having a tuner issue after installing the HDHR tuners. The HDHR is fine, the issue is with my PVR-250 card. My original setup had 3 tuners: 1. WinTV PVR S-Video using Comcast Portland Regional Digital lineup 2. WinTV PVR Tuner using Comcast Portland Regional lineup 3. ComcastHD via 1394 using Comcast Tualatin lineup. The first tuner was used for all channels that needed to go through the cable box, but didn't work through firewire (e.g., HBO). The second tuner for the lower, analog channels. And the third tuner for any digital channels that work through the firewire (most of them except for the pay channels!). With this setup I could record 2 shows at once on either tuners 1 & 2 or 2 & 3. But not 1 & 3 as they both use the cable box. After installing the HDHR, tuners 1 & 2 seem to be joined. If I try to record a program on channel 37 (tuner 1) and on channel 550 (tuner 2), Sage tells me there is a conflict and can only record one or the other. Also, if I look in the system info where it shows what is recording, it only lists 4 items: Recording: Nothing on Hauppauge WinTV PVR PCI II Capture Recording: Nothing on Silicondust HDHomeRun Tuner 0 Recording: Nothing on Silicondust HDHomeRun Tuner 1 Recording: Nothing on ComcastHD on 127.0.0.1:6969 Should'nt the first line be 2 lines, one for the s-video input and one for the tuner input? I'm not sure what to check. Everything looks fine. Am I wrong in thinking the PVR-250 card can record 2 programs at once? Thanks for any help! |

The PVR-250 can only record from 1 input at a time. It does support multiple inputs. The PVR-500 can record from 2 inputs at the same time.

Really? I'm pretty sure before I had firewire setup and I only had my tuner card, I could record 2 programs at once. One through the card's tuner and one through the cable box via s-video.

I have no way to prove it. But if you can record from 2 inputs at the same time, it is a feature I was not aware of when I was using my PVR-250's.
I would think it is more likely that you were able to record 2 shows that were scheduled at the same time, because one of the channels repeated itself after primetime. A lot of cable channels do this. So you got both shows but not at the same time.
