New USB-UIRT Software

Hello All,

I finally update my replacement software for the Streamzap PC Remote / Firefly / MCE Remote : LM Remote KeyMap. With USB-UIRT support and MCE IR Blaster support (MCE blaster only supported on XP for now).

So among other things you will be able to :

* customize your remote : Streamzap, Firefly (and Mini), MCE Remote or USB-UIRT as a receiver, for each applications
* create IR devices and learn IR codes to later blast with USB-UIRT or MCE Blaster

I also included a tuning plugin for SageTV. This let SageTV use LM Remote KeyMap to change the channel through the IR Blaster (and it support zones for MCE blaster and USB-UIRT).

I don't know if it will be useful for USB-UIRT owners as SageTV already support it fully. But it may helps (for instance : you can use both a Streamzap or a Firefly and USB-UIRT, and upon launching SageTV, issue a "Power On" blast for your TV...)

You can download and read about it on my web site.

Stéphane.

Can you tell me how this is done? I would like to turn on a projector with a USB-UIRT at Sage sartup, but I don't see where to do this in your program.

If you already use LM RKM to launch SageTV, then simply add a "Blast" action for the button that you use to launch SageTV (right before or after the "LaunchApplication").

When you choose the "Blast" action, you can select what device to use (the IR devices you created in LM RKM) and what IR code (learned in the IR device editor) to send.

If you have more than one IR code to send, simply use more than one "Blast" action (eventually separated by a "Pause" action if needed).

Regards,
Stéphane.

Thanks Stephane for your quick reply. I thought that would be the answer. Since the computers only function is to run SageTV in a home theater, I have it in my startup, and thought I could link the blast to the .exe. It has since dawned on me that I can simply put the blast on the MCE remote's power button, turning off the projector when going in or out of standby. Thank you for this nice software. I have spent many hours of frustration with HIP and Girder. Your program is easy to use. I downloaded it yesterday and already have it doing the things I wanted. I will make a donation shortley.

Keith

Remote blasting - possible?

Hi,
I have a SageTV server with USB-UIRT controlling 3 STBs.
Is there a way to use your LM-RKM on a SageTV client to send custom IR commands to the STBs using the server's USB-UIRT?

Thanks,
Oren.

Not yet. I have plans to include:

* complete COM interfaces for using the blaster
* web interface to access "virtual remotes" corresponding to the IR devices defined in LM RKM

I have not however thinked of a PC client. How would you want to issue IR commands from you SageTV client? And also it may help me to understand the global usage scenario you have in mind for this (for instance: I would myself use the "web interface" to issue IR commands to my STB to "unlock" it when stuck on a service page or something like that and remote viewing a channel on the STB with placeshifter)

Regards,
Stéphane.
