is there a way to modify sagetv's power off
so that it actually shuts down the program all together as opposed to just sleeping it on the taskbar? I'm having conflicts with other software so I need to be able to completely shut it down. thx

Sage.properties file has a setting to handle what happens when the SageTV window is closed -- with either ALT-F4 or by clicking on [X]:
sleep_on_close= True: Sage goes to sleep in systray (recording scheduled favourites, serving clients etc) False: Sage exits and shuts down process. You can always shut it down when it sleeps by right-clicking the systray icon and chosing exit! |

yes i have tried that setting but it doesn't make a difference. Sage sleeps whether it's true or false. I know I can right click, but that doesn't have a high WAF....

Did you restart SageTV after making the change? Perhaps it only reads that setting at startup.

yup I did. I think I'll try and solve it by using Girder to control Sage..

And keep in mind when you modify the properties don't have Sage running. That includes sleeping in the tray.
