WinTv 1800 Not tuning in

I ordered a WinTv 1800 online and I think it may be bad. I scan and cannot pick up any channels. I know I'm getting cable because when I hook the cable up to my tv it works.

I have digital cable and was hoping to pick up some clear Qam channels as well. I've installed and uninstalled the card and a demo of Sage. Ive tried the WinTv program as well without any luck.


Any ideas? I would really like to buy Sage if I can get it to work.

Your best bet is to stay with the WinTV application while testing your card.

You must connect your cable feed to BOTH the 'Cable TV' and the 'ATSC Antenna' F-connectors for the tuner to work with both ANALOG and DIGITAL.

You need to select the 'Clear-QAM' line in WinTV Channel tab in order to tune the cable transmissions.

Once you have the card detecting and viewing QAM transmissions in WinTV you can then try again with SageTV (after deleting the .frq file in the SageTV/SageTV directory associated with your device) to detect channels available from your digital device.
