If you are running SageTV as a service everything you set up on your server (movies, videos and music) will show up on your clients and extenders the same.

Do I have to have the same stvi installed on the clients/extenders?
Right now I do have it setup as a service but, no luck on images and title.. the dvd info comes across though. strange... |

One quick question (hopefully not hijacking): DVD Profiler free vs paid (for high quality images) -- Are the dvd cover images ok or suck on sageMC? How does it compare to the IMDB images? I currently using the IMDB.

Are your movie files on UNC mapped drives?

yes they are on a UNC mapped drive. I use zoom player to play my dvds...
do I need to provide it with addition arguments to play. Right now I have it open the dvd drive if it is using the same batch file to open the video dvds as well as the menu option "Play DVD". Is this what I need to do? |

QueOnda;
Also be aware that the free version of DVD Profiler will not allow you to export your Database to an .xml file after 50 DVDs have been added. You can see the differences between the Free & Paid versions Here... http://www.invelos.com/dvdpro/Registration.aspx Bruce

A note:
I had to disable IMDB import (default 'Enable') in SageMC 6.3.8 to get import of of DVD Profiler images to work.

Can you get it to import the details and genre in 6.3.8? I'm only able to get the image.

What I thought was an issue was actually no overview for the movie in DVD Profiler. I just finished importing 3 movies and don't see the issue. Make sure your paths didn't change in the SageMC setup for DVD Pro.

Everything imported just fine in 6.3.8. Here's what I did in the SageMC Options Menu:
Enhancements->IMDB Auto Lookup = Disabled Paths->Offline Path = C:\Temp (this directory must exist, can be any directory though) Paths->Meta Data XML = F:\collection.xml Paths->DVD Profiler Path = C:\Users\Admin\Documents\DVD Profiler\Databases\Default Then I did various combinations of Rescan Import Folders, DVD Profiler Refresh, and Import Offline DVD Profiler Videos (only once). At first it loaded only cover art, until I got it properly pointing towards my collection.xml. Then it added all the genre, runtime, description info but still only had covers for movies locally on the computer. It wasn't until I disable the IMDB Auto Lookup that all the artwork for the offline movies showed up. Brent, I would check all your paths. I suspect the cover art only is a combination of not pointing to the correct collection.xml file location and using IMDB to find the artwork.

Should I have a DVDpro2Sage.jar somewhere? All I see in the SageMC full install (and upgrade) is the dvdpro2sage.class file.

If you're your using the newer multi-disk then yes. That came with a .jap and a .class. Going back through my previous downloads of 6.3.7 (and a & b) it only came with a .class. (Like I said in my original post in the other thread make sure you copy the dvdpro2sage.jar file for multi disk in there. Copy the DVD2prosage jar file)

Man I can't believe I missed this. Figured out my problem after hours and hours of troubleshooting and banging my head against the wall....
I was doing all of my testing of this with a relatively new media directory that I had set up. It was structured like this: Quote:
Quote:
Figured this out by reviewing the log after an import and noticed this: Quote:
Quote:
The frustrating thing here was that I knew that the media folder couldn't be in a subdirectory - I was so focused on the import itself being a problem that I overlooked that as a possible problem... At least I have the problem resolved - on to more useful things. |

Realized it still isn't working for me. The log shows that the movie is being imported, but it isn't doing it.
Just to make sure it wasn't something I mucked up with all of the testing and messing I've done with my install I went the extra mile and totally uninstalled SageTV, reinstalled completely (total fresh install except for the wiz.bin) and then reinstalled SageMC with the 6.3.8 full install. Exact same result. I can't believe I'm the only one seeing this. Could anyone with SageMC 6.3.8 do a manual movie import on a movie not in thier library to test for me? Here's an example of a manual import: First from the video library I select a movie title (I used "Dalmatians" as my test and named it the same in DVDProfiler). Then I select "edit video info" and then "dvd profiler import". Next I see the title, description and genre on the screen as I would expect. I then select the "import" button to import the movie cover and metadata Finally it instantly jumps back (when this used to work it would take a few seconds for this import - not its nearly instant) to the video library screen, but leaves the movie with no metadata and in the "unassigned" genre. The cover does import, but no metadata at all. Here's what it looks like after the import Here's an example of what the log shows during this process: Code:
Sun 10/26 10:24:40.835 Processing DVD Profiler import for Dalmatians Sun 10/26 10:24:40.836 RunningTime Sun 10/26 10:24:40.838 Imported DVD Profiler data for Dalmatians Sun 10/26 10:24:40.841 setUI(sage.b1@18f57d2[Program Info]) histIdx=2 uiHistory=[sage.b1@187a8e0[Dynamic Menu by nielm], sage.b1@1acdcb9[Video Library Folder View], sage.b1@18f57d2[Program Info], sage.b1@1783d33[Library Import View]] Sun 10/26 10:24:40.846 end=Sun 10/26 10:24:40.846 Can anyone help me out with a fix for this? I know some have said it's working for them with SageMC 6.3.8, but I'm hoping someone out there either has a fix for me or could confirm there really is a problem with 6.3.8 or something. Or am I missing something obvious? Last edited by Brent; 03-14-2009 at 07:55 AM. |

I don't run the DVD Profiler from the individual movie screen. I run it from the first screen where all the DVDs are shown. First i rescan the directories. Then I run the DVD Profiler import. I'm not having the issues you are seeing. Maybe it's a bug from the individual movie screen.
