No TV Picture for Video
I have setup a SageTV trial for a neighbor on his laptop but can not get video to appear on the TV. The menu's show up fine, the OSD shows fine but if I select DVD or an mpg file from the Video Library the box/or windows appears black on the TV. I have PowerDVD installed on this system and selected within Sage detailed setup, Video and Audio decoders both set to Cyberlink.
If I load the mpg files or the DVD in the ROM with PowerDVD the output to the TV displays??? Appreciate any and all advise help as I am up against a hard, 10 day, deadline hittr details: Windows XP Pro SP1, ATI Radeon IGP 340M, PowerDVD 4.0, SageTV trial 1.4.10 (the latest non-beta) |

Try setting the video renderer to "Default (VMR on XP)". Overlay generally only works on one screen at a time, and usually on the primary (laptop screen).
It's in Detailed Setup->Video. |

Tried both
I should have mentioned before I have tried both Overlay and the VMR settings with the same results. No video output on the TV?
When I tested on another similar laptop with the same video card I got the video on the TV and laptop??? |

To clarify
I also should have mentioned above that the ATI Radeon Mobility IGP 345M is for TV out only. The capturing is being handled by the Hauppague USB2 device.
Still stuck though. |

make sure that the tv out is connected when you restart the pc. also make sure that the tv out is the default display otherwise video will only play on the laptop screen and not the tv.

I'll give it a try tonight
Thought I tried this but I noticed some forum msgs re: Overlay and Extended Desktop, Cloning, etc...
Post back my results. I know it is something small. |

I don't know if this will help but....
I recently installed a MatroxG400 and could not get the video to play over the S-video output unless I configured the display for 24-bit color. When I used 32-bit color, the video showed on the monitor but not on the TV (S-video output). |

That's it
Had to change the TV display to Primary from Cloned. Worked right away. Thanks to everyone for their tips and guidance.
