Sage Recorder vs Hauppauge PVR 250
Maybe I am commiting the ultimate n00b sin but I cannot get this straight. I am looking at using JUST the TV Recorder from Sage with my video capture card the ubiquitous Hauppauge PVR 250. The forums say it works, the product details say it works. For me it doesn't.
I get this error There was a problem utilizing the specific capture configuration. Unable to configure the audio portion of the filter graph ErrCode=0x80004005 Well. let us move past the Java updated to the Jan 2008 version. Done that. Or the latest Hauppauge drivers. Or reinstalling. Or selecting the video cards. Or going in the SAGERECORDER Properties file and looking at the mmc/encoders/1642691032/audio_capture_device_name= to match the value from videoframe/audio_render_filter= I actually have two audio cards. Realtek AC97 Audio (on the motherboard) and the Creative SoundBlaster PCI. Obviously one or the other would be disabled. I use the PCI card but for the sake of experimentation I used either one or the other (one disabled) during my fruitless attempts. I am at the end of my wits. What do you guys do to have this working ? If it worked for you, should also work for me...one would think. IS there any special settings ? Any suggestions ? I am sure it is some oversight on my side...but I cannot think of it now. The Sage Recorder seems to be the neat software I need...if only I could make it work. As a side note, the Sage TV application works great. But it is too much for me, both in features and money wise. I just need a TV recording utility that allows me to adjust quality (and size) of files and even do basic time recording (from a satellite dish receiver). Audio Patch input ? (Line in?) - tried all Audio Decoder - Intervideo NonCSS Audio Decoder for Hauppauge Audio Renderer ? - tried both of them Realtek and Creative nothing Please help. Thanks. |

Just a guess that may be wrong: SageTV Recorder is old software that is no longer updated, so maybe it doesn't work with the newer versions of the 250's drivers. This guess is based on your comment that SageTV works with the tuner.

On the money with that suggestion I think. My PVR-USB2 wouldn't work with Sage TV Recorder when I loaded the latest drivers. I installed those on the CD that came with my PVR-USB2 (a couple of years old) and that solved it.
