Stop Sage from waking monitor
Is there a way to stop sagetv from waking up the monitor? My server is on 24/7 and all I want is for the monitor to power off with one of the streamzap macro buttons. I was successful in this using NirCmd to issue the "monitor off" command, but Sage keeps waking it back up. How can I stop it from doing this? I know it is sage, because it doesn't happen when sage is not running, the monitor will stay off.

What state do you leave sage in when you are not using it? If you just leave the service running does it still bring up the monitor? How about if Sage is put to "sleep"?
I would think if you left the service running Sage shouldn't wake the monitor if it starts doing something.

Well, this is not only the server, but it is also used for one of our TVs. So I would rather not have to close sage everytime I want the monitor to go into powersave mode. I have found that I can use one of my macro buttons to bring it out of full screen mode and another button to put the monitor to sleep and this seems to work fine, but I am trying to make everything work using the remote.
I just wish that I did not have to bring it out of full screen mode just to put the monitor to sleep. |

What kind of monitor are we talking about? Does it have its own remote and standby function, or are you relying on Windows to put it into standby mode? I'm guessing that if you could use the monitor's own standby function, you wouldn't have this problem.
If that's not possible, have you checked your logs to see what Sage is doing at the time the monitor wakes up?

I am using an lcd computer monitor that goes into standby when the computer powers down the video card. It works fine when I bring sage out of full screen mode, but in full screen mode it keeps waking it back up.
I haven't checked the logs yet. |

Wizmo!
Works for me and with some clever scripting and the use of autohotkey I've got this working great with my plasma. Nothing will wake the monitor when you use this method.
http://www.grc.com/wizmo/wizmo.htm Took me 4 months to find something that strictly turns the monitor off and does not wake until you command it to. |
