hauppauge remote control doesnt work

hello everyone, in new to this forum and sageTV, i have a couple questions not specific to sagetv. I can not get my hauppauge remote control to work with anything, i have tried 10 different pvr software and the remote does not work with anything, what sort of software do i need to get it to work?

i have the hauppauge pvr150 with 45 button silver remote, i have tried winLIRC and it only works with serial port remotes i think, the transmitter for the remote i have plugs into the card itself.

You need to have the Hauppauge IR software running to use the remote. Once you have it running, you can test it by editing the irremote.ini file and setting it to send commands to an open notepad file. Once you know it works, then you can setup SageTV and tell it that you have a Hauupauge remote. It will then add some Sage settings to the irremote.ini file.
