Sage v2 Java API

Studio was mentioned as the application we would use to customize Sage 2. I was wondering, will any kind of Java API be exposed? if so, what is the state of the documentation?

I believe that I read something that hinted that this might happen. I write Java apps for a living(server-side) and I'm very impressed by Jeffrey's work and would be intrigued by the opportunity to "plug-in" to Sage.
