not sure if the USB-UIRT is what I need.
I'm trying to hook sagetv through my cable box so I can have access to my pay channels .. Is the USB-UIRT what I need to do this? Does this change the cable box and sage at the same time?? I'm sorry if this has already been asked but I searched and was still a little confussed.I don't want to spend $58 (inc. Shipping) and end up with the wrong thing.

Yeah, the USB-UIRT is what you want. The USB-UIRT performs two major functions.
1.) Sage instructs the USB-UIRT to send IR codes to your cable box to change channels on the cable box when needed. During initial setup of Sage, you will point your cable box remote at the USB-UIRT so that it can learn your codes and act as if you had changed channels with the remote. 2.) The USB-UIRT will receive IR codes from any remote you may have to be used in controlling Sage and other software. |
