PVR 1600 - QAM, but no audio
Greetings all.
I setup my new 1600 after Christmas. Pretty disappointed in the QAM results; I guess I was (naively) overly optimistic in Comcast's generosity. Anyway, I do not have any sound with the demodulated channels. Analog input works fine, it's the digital I am having a problem with. Anyone else have this problem or maybe a bad card? --John

The digital input just tunes and transfers the broadcast stream from the cable company, so if you're getting a good signal it's probably not your tuner card. I'd look into your audio decoder, HD broadcasts will usually have sourround sound and the tuner or sound card may not be handling it properly.

That did it. I switched from PureVideo Bronze to AC3 and all is well!
Thanks for the help.

Not many clear QAM
I too am dissapointed with how few clear QAM channels I get from Comcast. I thought I would at least get what I got in analog. I am going to get another STB and connect through SVideo. So far lots of money in hardware and software, but I don't get much more than I did with my 5 year old Pinnical PCTV analog card.

I agree with you, not much more. But at least now I have 2 analog tuners for $65, so whatever HD I get is a bonus. Prior to purchasing the 1600, I connected my STB via SVideo. Good move - it's a free input and it gives me all of Comcast's channels. Not in HD, but that's ok.
