some imported videos not showing up in Library
I have some videos that are not showing up in my Imported Videos Library. Almost everything in my library is .mp4 (6000+), but some are not showing up for some reason. They have audio and video and play fine in other media players including WMP. Does anyone else have a similiar issue or know what I can do?

Wow, I'm the only one having this issue?
Maybe I should up an imported video and have Sage look at it.

As a matter of fact they do...
How do I fix that?

I dont know. I've mentioned this, and sent bug reports.
Doesn't seem to be real high on sages priority list. The only way I have been able to "fix" it myself is to transcode the files to another format. Or, play them with a more forgiving program. Not the answer you want to hear I'm sure, especially if you have a lot of these files. |

I took out my Music Directory from the Imported Media folders to check how many of these videos I have.....

I had this issue some time ago but never found the answer.
Again not what you want to hear but it went away after I nuke and paved my HTPC for other reasons. I don't know what I did different the second time around. However, the music and videos are now on different drives so maybe that stops sage from getting confused.

I already had them seperated on different drives.
Maybe I should move the videos and see if Sage picks them up right?

I also do not understand how an *.mp4 could end up in my Music section as the extension is not even in my properties file?
"seeker/music_library_import_filename_extensions=.mp3,.wav,.wma,.aac,.m4a,.flac,.ogg,.ac3" I have sent a bug report and uploaded one of the videos in question in hope that Sage can fix this issue... PS... I tried moving them, No Luck. The same videos are affected.

I have this problem with some of my videos. I do not know of anyway to fix it. Have you submitted a bug report?

Add me to the list. I have about 10 videos that show up in my music section instead of the video section. Some of them are .mkv files and others are .avi files.

I have the same problem I attached a sample as you can see Sage thinks the AVI is an audio file.

I have indeed submitted a report and maybe if everybody here that has this problem did as well, they might take a serious look at it...

I had a similar bug the other day. I'm not sure whether the missing file was in the music import though. I just noticed a single file wasn't showing up. It magically appeared when I added another character to the filename. Took the character off and it disappeared again. So now the file has an "_" at the end of the file. If I remove it the file goes away.

I submitted a bug report when I had the problem but never got a reply. Now, my version of sage is out of date and the problem went away.

I had a weird issue that was similar -- movies showing up in the video section, but with title displaying tags from unrelated mp3 files!
I fixed it by removing all the imported files directories, then re-importing the videos, waiting a day, and then re-importing the music. It seemed to be just a database confusion that just needed a refresh. |

I will try that solution and see...

Ok, this is irritating. I had another new imported video do this again this morning. I had never checked before, mostly because I never thought to look. Lo and behold the imported video was showing up under Music. What is up with that? Then I change the name, in this case add a "-" to the end of the filename, do a rescan and magically it shows up in Videos.
I'm going to submit a bug report just to emphisize it. |

This, and similar behaviour has been reported a number of times I believe.
and still, its not fixed |

Well, it doesn't hurt to try again. They've asked for my logs which I'm going to provide once I get home. I have a habit of keeping logging turned on "just in case." I know approximately when this morning that it happened.
