Discovery Channel/No Sound? Fix?

Hi all,
I am using SageTV v6.2, winxp pro,AMD Athlon 64 X2 5200+, 1gb ddr2, asus m2n-mx mobo, I have PVR-150 tuner card. Analog cable (comcast/NJ). I have used Sage for 2+ years with no major problems. However, about 2 mos ago, ch 31, which is Discovery Channel, has no audio. It views fine, but no audio. At first, the audio would come on after a few minutes of watching the channel, but now, nothing, only video. I pulled the PVR-150 card and switched pci slots, but it made no difference. I even tried a different PVR-150 card and it does the same thing. I like this channel and need to find a way to get the audio back before "Deadliest Catch" season starts again! Please help me fix this guys.

Only 1 channel without sound seems really odd, have you tried viewing that channel in WinTV? If so did it have sound? I was going to suggest installing the newest Hauppauge drivers but if all other channels are fine, this probably won't help.

Does the channel have sound if viewed on a normal TV - what I mean by this is not through the PC but on a real analog tv ?

DIscovery Channel NO Audio

HI Fastrack,
I can watch the channel with no problems on a regular tv in the house, the audio works fine. I tried opening WinTV, and nothing plays at all. I just have the opening screen, no tv channels at all? THat's odd, because it used to work. I never open it though? But on Sagetv, I can watch all my normal channels with audio fine. Like I said, I moved the card to another pci slot, and even put in a different 150 card and it does the same thing, no audio on discovery channel?

I've never seen an issue like this, but to view channels in WinTV you need to scan for channels first.

Click the 'Menu' button -> Click 'Suite Manager' -> Click 'Auto Scan'

The only reason I suggest this, is you can then eliminate SageTV out of the picture if there's no sound in WinTV there probably is a driver issue.

If there is Sound on Discovery when you do this, then you'll have to email SageTV Tech Support which will probably get you to enable Debug mode.

If there is no sound on that channel using WinTV, I would do the following:
1) Download the newest Driver CD for the PVR 150:
http://www.hauppauge.com/pages/suppo...rt_pvr150.html

Follow the directions using HWClear.exe as the page describes.

My guess for your problem is the tuning table for the channels is messed.

FYI .. The scanning of channels in WinTV is not required by SageTV. This is just a method to test the card using Hauppauge WinTV eliminating SageTV.
