Automatic Device Discovery
Can anyone explain to me the process with which the Sage TV place-shifter/client can auto-discover the IP of the computer running the Sage TV server / media center?
I would love to learn more Thanks!

Your local SageTV (the program) server can register its IP address and Locator ID with SageTV's (the company) server. Then, when you run Placeshifter, it can use your Locator ID to request the IP address of your server to connect to.
Or, you can just tell Placeshifter to use your IP address directly. - Andy
