Microsoft MCE Remote causing Menu Issues
I'm new to Sage and wanted to get it working with a remote. I connected an old remote that I got with Windows MCE 2002. Now, if I try to navigate from the main menu, it keeps jumping back to the main menu, e.g. if I try to watch live tv, the video briefly appears, but the main window jumps back to the menu, but I can still hear the audio from whatever channel its tuned to.
I had version 6.3.7 installed when I tried this, I downloaded 6.3.8 and re-installed on top, that didn't help. I uninstalled 6.3.8, deleted the SageTV folder in Program Files and installed clean. Now, the first step in the setup wizard, its asking for the Country, when I choose it, it goes to the next screen and jumps straight back to the country screen again, just like before. Anyone seen this before or have any ideas? Also, I've unplugged the receiver from the windows remote, that hasn't helped. Any helped or pointers would be greatly appreciated. |

Hey Gordo,
I'm using an mce 2005 remote without a problem though I believe these are different to the earlier version. Could there be a problem with the mouse or keyboard that you have plugged in? Mick. |

Mick,
I was successfully using itfor a couple of weeks for basic things like scheduling/playing programs etc., I've always had the same mouse and keyboard. The only thing that changed was the addition of the remote. It does sound weird though that adding a remote would do something like that. |

I've seen the same thing when trying to use an MCE remote with a microsoft wireless keyboard and mouse.

I've had the same issue too and found that unplugging the wireless mouse caused it to go away until I plugged it back in. I usually just let windows find the correct driver, but after I loaded the specific driver for that mouse the problem went away.

Sure enough, when I unplugged the mouse (which was Microsoft Wireless) it worked. I installed the latest IntelliPoint driver (6.2) and now I have both mouse and remote working together, I was on version 5.something previously. Thanks for the help.
