Mac Version-Questions First

Hi all,
I have used the windoze version of Sagetv for a while and love it! I want to buy the Mac version for my mac. My question is what format does the mac version record tv shows to? In win version it records to Mpeg 2. The problem with that is you can not edit out the commercials on a mac with Mpeg 2, before burning to DVD. Will the mac version record the shows to some other format that you CAN edit on the mac? It would be great to be able to edit the shows in iMovie on the mac. I'm waiting to hear this answer before buying the mac version. Also, which tv tuner will work on a mac laptop (powerbook G4).

Hi bcjenkins,
Thanks for the info. Can you edit with that and then burn to DVD?

You can easily burn a mpeg2 file to DVD with VisualHub http://www.techspansion.com well worth the purchase price.

Mac Version-Questions First

Hi again B,
I downloaded mpegstreamclip last night and edited a recorded tv show in Mpeg 2. It worked great! And the best part of it all is that I did it on my mac. That is what I was looking for. I will now try your second suggestion of VisualHub. Hopefully it will let me burn the now edited Mpeg 2 files to DVD.
Thanks again for you help!
-Tom

The EyeTV Hybrid (Hauppage 950) has worked like a top for me.
