HD Extender and PAL
Hi All,
I'm really thinking of buying a HD extender as soon as it's available. I currently have a MCE machine in the living room, but I really want to convert that machine into a centralized (in the basement) Windows Home Server machine with lots of storage and SageTV! And then of course having the silent HD Extender in the living room. But I live in the Netherlands and therefor depending on PAL support. I've read on this forum that the extender currently only supports NTSC, but does that mean it does not on a PAL tv?? Thanks for your help!! |

Opus posted a sticky regarding the STX-HD100 RoHS compliance which mentioned the status of PAL support. Apparently it will be added with a firmware update, no ETA though...

Thanks.
But what happens if I hook the extender to a PAL tv... does it display anything? |

On a similar note, can the Extender play PAL DVD rips or ISOs on a NTSC TV?

A lot of PAL TVs seem to also handle an NTSC signal fine. FYI, I have tried an extender on a cheap Europe PAL TV, and it played everything fine. This was using the plain old composite input on the TV, through a scart adapter.
