No Sound all of a sudden?
I am fairly new to Sage, but have been using 6.3.9 for a couple of weeks just fine. Recording and watching shows no problem.
All of a sudden today watching recorded shows or live tv has no sound. Video is perfect...just no sound. I tried changing to different audio decoders in detail setup with no luck. Good news seems to be the .mpg recordings all play just fine in VLC, VMC, WMP, etc. So I think the recordings really are ok...but for some reason Sage is not playing the audio. I turned debugging on but nothing really jumped out. Anyone else seen this and figured out how to fix? I am using Vista x64. |

Since you are using a beta: there is a new beta that was just posted this evening, so give that a try.
Have any drivers changed? Mute didn't get turned on in SageTV somehow? ![]() If you file a bug report & are using any customizations, especially any recently added, disable them & try again before sending in a bug report. - Andy

Opus4, thanks for the quick reply! I am loving Sage, minus this one issue. Also ordered 2 extenders...cant wait.
Anyway, I did download 6.3.10 but still the same thing. I am curious about your question of Mute being turned on. How can I verify that? Also, the only customization I have is SageMC...should I switch back to the standard STV before generating a debug log? I also tuned on the consolewin, which was good to review...but only the last 100 or so lines could be viewed since lots of logging scrolled off the CMD screen (even when scrolling up of course). Is there anyway to redirect the consolewin output to a file? I tried debug_logging=TRUE, but that seemed to be a different type of debug output compared to consolewin. Any tips? Thanks...Paul. |

Opus...you are a genius!!!
I took one of you suggestions and ran with it...regarding the volume/mute. Using SageMC, I could not find how to verify the volume level...tried ctrl-r and shft-ctrl-m per the manual, but did not seem to work. So I went back to the standard STV where a volume slider is visible...and guess what, the volume was all the way down!! Turned it up and bingo....audio was great. Then went back to SageMC and volume was great as well! Guess my main question now is...how do you verify/adjust the volume in SageMC...if anyone knows. |

Does the volume up/down on the remote not do anything for you? How about the 'mute' button on the remote??
