Here's how I export the list of current favorites from the SageTV recordings manager:
  1. Open Nielm's webserver
  2. Select the Schedule Recordings tab and then click on favorites manager to list all of your favorites
  3. Put your mouse over the xml button at the top-right of the screen and click on it to save it to a file on your hard drive
  4. Open the list in Excel and you have your list will all the details.

Very cool. And I've got a lot of cleanup to do in my favorites now!

I know I can check myself in a couple minutes... but

Will this also work for the channel lineups? I really wish there was another way to manage these.

Can you make changes to the file and then load it back into Sage?

Sorry if this is a dumb question, but I haven't really tinkered with my Sage setup much so I'm not familiar with many of the add-ons.

Thanks,
- Carl

Not that I know of. You'd have to make your changes to your favorites through sageTV the normal way as far as I know.

I use Dish network (as well as local OTA) and they like to monkey with their lineup every now and then. I used to use Dish national lineup and Dish local lineup since I had both HD and SD receivers, so that meant sifting through that huge channel lineup screen twice every time they change things. It would just be nice if there was some other way to at least identify those new channels that Sage likes to assume I subscribe to.
