Custom AR with SageTV client?
I've spent a couple days looking for this info, now, so I figure it's time to post the question and let someone point me to a FAQ or another post I've overlooked.
Is there any way to set up a custom aspect ratio on the SageTV client like you can on the HD100 extender? I added one to the HD100 called Pillarboxed that will stretch the display and get rid of the side bars. I have to be able to toggle this on and off because I have some channels that have it, some are full 16:9, so Fill doesn't do it. |

There's no way to add custom modes, but you have four built-in aspect ratio modes to play with. Pick one that you're not otherwise using and adjust its zoom settings to suit your needs.

I didn't realize the zoom settings were per AR. Thanks!

Not sure of a way to set up a stretched aspect ratio in SageTVclient, don't think it's possible. But whatever ratios you end up using, look into using the auto aspect ratio switcher, http://forums.sagetv.com/forums/showthread.php?t=14146 , that will automatically toggle the aspect ratio to whatever ratio you want dependant on the rules you set.
edit: thought you meant stretched as more stretched in the sides versus the center. Didn't realize that you weren't aware of the 4 aspect ratios being able to be individually adjusted.

This seems to be working well so far. I'll be looking into the switcher this week, though. Thanks! |
