Missing recordings
Hi,
I'm having trouble recording all the channels offered by my local PBS affiliate. They have 5 subchannels: % grep UNC adapter5-ATSC.frq CH:21 major:4 minor:2 prog:4 phy:59 frq:743000000 #:UNC-HD CH:22 major:4 minor:5 prog:7 phy:59 frq:743000000 #:UNC-NC CH:23 major:4 minor:4 prog:6 phy:59 frq:743000000 #:UNC-ED CH:24 major:4 minor:3 prog:5 phy:59 frq:743000000 #:UNC-KD CH:25 major:4 minor:1 prog:3 phy:59 frq:743000000 #:UNC-TV At any time other than 8pm -> 11pm, all subchannels are active except for 4-2. 4-2 is available 8pm -> 11pm, and when it is on, 4-4 and 4-5 are taken off the air. If I "mess with" the lineup (rescan, remap, touch nearly anything) when 4-2 is active, I can record from 4-2 but not 4-4 or 4-5 at some point in the future. However, if I "mess with" the lineup when 4-2 is not active, I can record from 4-4 and 4-5, but recordings on 4-2 will fail or create an emty file or something. Last night, I was unable to record from 4-2. The interesting thing is that with my TV tuner, I can see a screen on 4-2 saying that "The program services of UNC-HD will resume at 8:00pm." Howerver, SageTV will just say "no signal". If I stop sage and use the dvbutils, I can capture this stream and display it in mplayer. It is very low bandwidth. Could this be what is causing SageTV problems? Last night, I activated 59-4-2 by re-entering the physical and logical mapping. After doing that, I could watch 4-2 in live TV. But Now it cannot see 59-4-4 and 59-4-5 (apparently since they were inactive when I activated 4-2).
Here is a debug log from this morning when I scheduled a recording on 4-5. It was zero length, and was deleted. Help! The broadcast engineer from the problem station quickly replied to my emai, and told me that there are no audo pids associated with the "tricklstreams" they send out for the inactive channels.
Will this confuse SageTV? Thanks, Drew
