HD100 - Where is the License?

I just bought an HD extender off Ebay as NEW and unfortunately it came open (grrr...) and without the manual. So, was the license in the manual? Or is it on the HD100 somewhere?

THanks.

Sorry dude, you're screwed. It comes over email, and is bound to the person.

You gotta buy a placeshifter license from SageTV directly. Hope you saved more than $40, cuz that's what it'll cost.

The license you need is either the SageTV placeshifter or the SageTV MVP client, they are the same. They cost $29.95 at the sage store or $24.95 at http://www.pcalchemy.com/index.php/c...39914bed863fc9.

The only manual that comes with it is the Installation and Setup Guide, which may be available on line somewhere.Mine was only 10 pages.

Is it really bound to the person? According to teh auction the license comes with it. can (if it was an over sight) he turn the license over to me?

The EULA states:
2. Restrictions. The Product is comprised of proprietary software and materials and is protected by the laws of the United States, including but not limited to its copyright and patent laws. Licensee may not:
(a) copy, distribute, sublicense, transfer, modify, or assign the Product or any portion or copy of the Product, to any third party;
(b) copy, use or exploit the Product other than in accordance with this Agreement;
(c) resell, rent, use in a service bureau environment, sublicense or otherwise transfer rights to the Product to any third party;
(d) reverse engineer, disassemble, or decompile the Product or assist any other entity in doing so;
(e) remove or obscure any proprietary notices on the Product.

I believe the seller should have stated that it was being sold without the license. Also, it probably should have been sold as unused, new implies never been opened. The license would have been sent via E-mail to the seller and you would probably have to use their name to use the license.

Edit: you should also hope that it came out of the second shipment. If it came out of the first shipment, you may not be able to get a replacement front panel if you have problems with the remote.
