Coming from BTV

Ok, I've been using BTV for years, but now I'm moving to a new place and want to set up a nice media center. I will be putting my HTPC in an office room so it can serve the purpose of media and other functions (email, word processing, internet etc etc.). I am thinking of going with Sagetv since it has the media center integrated, and streaming to my Big screen HDTV. I will also be using a cable box to view the many HD channels it provides, so I will toggle between the HTPC and regular cable box connection.
So would sagetv and mediamvp work well with what I want to do?

If you're going to do HD, heck even if you aren't now, I'd go with the HD Extender. It doesn't tax the server as much and I've had much better luck with it just working well. The only problem is that they are currently out of stock, but when they come in you should order as quickly as possible because they've already sold out 2 complete shipments each in about a week.

The mediamvp would work, but I agree with toricred - go with the HD Extender unless you just have an old mvp sitting around.
