Good to hear Brent, let us know how it goes. I'd hit up rapidshare.de if you're looking for video file hosting.

Well, let's just say this. Look at my server hardware in my signature. It's an old AthlonXP 2600+ with 512MB of RAM. Watching HD live through the HD-PVR on an STX-HD100, I'm seeing anywhere from 2-5% CPU usage. Total. If I move my mouse, it jumps up to 11% To be honest, I'm shocked at the low numbers.

Okay, I have the HD-PVR up and running in SageTV (sort of) and watching ML Baseball Yankees vs. Twins. on my HD100 extender. Picture quality very, very good. No noticed video problems, audio working just fine and the server isn't showing any signs of problems either.
I say sort of because I can't get the dang IR blaster thing to work. I was hoping this IR Blaster would be my backup solution since I haven't gotten my firewire tuning working with my 4250HDR working yet. Regardless, I'm excited and I think this thing is going to be a hit. I'll post photos, video clips, unboxing video and more thoughts this evening on the blog. |

My wife is getting even with my recent spree; boxes from nordstroms.com have been coming damn well near daily, everytime I see the UPS guy I jump up to see if it's my HD-PVR.
Nope, today was the 5th nordstroms box to come. ACK! I need my HD-DVR! |

Mine was scheduled for tomorrow, but it came today. I got it hooked up to my Win2003 server and I can verify that the blaster is not seen. However, its not needed for me because I have firewire setup for channel changes.
I have it setup now where it has its own channel lineup and it can change channels via firewire successfully. However, I get an error upon playback about audio decode issues. I will let a show finish completely and try viewing it again. Maybe it just doesn't like timeshifting.

Do we know what the wait time is if I order an HD-PVR now?

Just ordered one. Do we have a thread with set-up instructions for Sage somewhere?

So far, the only thing I'm seeing that's bothersome is the audio synch is off by about 250ms. I've played the TS file directly, and the audio is off. I'm currently hooked up to the stereo outputs, will try the optical connection next to see if it's still off.

According to UPS mine has been delivered. Unfortunately I have to teach a martial arts class until 7pm, so I won't even get to see it until later tonight. Aloha, Mike

Not sure where mine is
My order is 337XX and I received a shipment e-mail last Thursday (5/29) that states the scheduled delivery date is 05 June 2008. But the UPS website as of right now still only says "Billing Information Received".
I wrote to sales@hauppauge.com today asking if they could verify that it has in fact been shipped (my CC has been charged), but have not heard back. Anyone have any thoughts or advice on this one? I really don't want to have to wait another week for this thing! |

I'm very curious to find out if this will work with Directv. Does Sage have guide information for Directv?

Yes. They license guide data from Zap2it, so they should have just about anything in the US.

Here's the problem. I subscribe to Directv's MLB Extra Innings package and the Super MLB fan (or whatever it's called) to get all the games in HD. Directv uses sub-channels or something to broadcast the games in HD. For example, the Sage Directv guide shows the channels 720-750, which are correct. However, let's say the Red Sox are playing a team on channel 727. The HD version of the game is on 727-1; the SD version is on just 720. This is a problem because there are no "-1" channels in the Sage Directv guide. Kinda bummed...

I am curious to see what this would take. I can transcode my local networks (mpeg2) streams on the fly with the HIGH setting on with my e4300 overclocked to 2.4ghz (could actually ratchet it back to about 2.2 and still pull it off). Obviously on the fly transcoding of 1080i of H.264 would require downconverting the video and changing formats for playback on the MVP. If anyone can get this working, I would love to hear about it. I can see the WAF dropping if I have to tell her that Discovery / Food / Etc. in HD are only able to be played back on the HD100's.
