My extender is doing some goofy stuff with the sound as well.
When watching a recorded show on the HD Extender the sound will travel around the various speakers, it will jump from the front channel to the rear channels for a few minutes then jump back to the front channel. I am using optical out on the HD extender, DVD's decode properly and the sound stays on the proper channel. The recorded video however does not. Anyone else having this issue? Mine started shortly after moving my Sage install to my W2K3 server. It happens on all channels. I guess it could also be my Nvidia capure card-dual tv that is causing the issue. I guess a request to support is in order.

you'll lose 5.1 unless your TV is one of those that will pass it through. mine outputs stereo via optical for all the HDMI inputs It's a stopgap measure for me until Sage squashes the bug.

I have "3.0" on that TV, so it's probably OK. Worst case I lose the center channel. Hopefully the fix will be coming soon...

I have had this problem from day one with the HD extender. I am also having other issues/problems with the HD extender, time line out of sync, stuttering, shutting off, etc... very frustrating.
Seems like they need to get the HD extender out of beta... |

Well, I am getting the no audio after FF (seems fine after the first press of skip forward, but if I have to do it more than once, the audio goes away and the video goes into some sort of weird "high speed" mode but it is likely just skipping frames). I am using both R5000 and HDHR recordings and they both seem to do this...is this fixed yet?

When I briefly had the new HD-100 firmware (which lost audio for HD recordinds), it looked like this was fixed (or at least greatly reduced) for the SD recordings.

No-one has mentioned DVD's yet so I thought I'd through that into the pile. I get it fairly regulary also when FF'ing or skipping in ripped DVD's (in addition to the recorded tv issues mentioned previously).

I have been seeing these same issues, but only with live TV (OTA) so far. I've not had any problems during playback. I've also noticed that running a few seconds behind live seems to help, but doesn't solve the issue. On the other hand, if I use FF2/FF3 while near the end of the buffer, it will almost always cause the problem. Sometimes I'll also get a bit of video stuttering along with the audio loss. Not good for the WAF.

Im having the same issues as everyone else. My system is SD only, 5 tuners, 3mvp's 1 hd100. Doesnt matter if its hdmi or regular connection from my hd100. The audio just isnt there for a couple of seconds, in several cases:
1. starting a recording 2. skipping 3. changing channels, the audio doesnt start for about 2 secs. 4. just random dropouts, and stutters. Everything is on the same Gige switch, so its not like a loss of network. My ethernet port on my sage box never goes above 20% even when everyone is watching. CPU on the sage box never goes above 3% unless comskip is running. And the audio problems happen in both cases of comskip running or not. It has to be a bug. |
