Any word on the 6.4 Beta?

Just wondering if there is an estimate for the 6.4 Beta? I am looking forward to testing it out to solve the FWD/RWD timing issues.

Fair question, since I have been wondering too. Especially seeing a Mac update, and none for Windows !

The mac update was to catch up with the Windows version not the other way around.

I'm thinking of bring my golf clubs out of retirement.

That'll get me away from checking for a new release every couple of hours.

Yes fair question, but you're not going to get an estimate out of Sage's brass about software releases.

Last week.

I suppose that shows the value of estimates.

I inquired into a bug I found and SageTV support said it's been fixed in 6.4. After they originally said the beta would be out late last week, I followed up yesterday and they quickly responded with the following:

It should be available publicly in about 2 days. We're just fixing some bugs
that were uncovered in the initial private testing first.

2 days = tomorrow... so fingers crossed!

I'm sure the beta has to be out before the HD DVR comes out, so it will be supported. Right?

I must admit the current 6.3.10 is really solid for me too. Do I really want the disapproving looks from the wife to start up ?
It will have to have some good features and/or bug fixes relevant to me for me to take the 6.4 leap straight up.

it is pretty remarkably self contained that way. And really it's even better then that.

I'd messed my install up with too many sagemc intalls, patches, tweaks and plugins so I started fresh.

Copied my old folder to an archive location.

Installed 6.3.10 from scratch.

Coppied the sage.properties file (deleted all the sage/mc enteries from it) and the wiz.bin from my archive and put them into the new install and I'm back up and running and all looks and behaves well again.

Total time maybe 6 or 8 minutes.

Have a few tweaks to do to get my extenders behaving just right again. Then I'll archive and start down the MC road again, but Sage is pretty sweet with the refresh and testing.

I'll definitely fire up 6.4 the minute it hits. Hopping for some comskip fixes and better m2ts support on extenders.

Go sage.
