I'm "Only" a Studio Tweaker

... so don't laugh!

I've only fooled with things like text color and changing a few menu references for the "back" button, since I am using Dynamic Menus.

So, for the life of me I can't seem to find the Online Services menu items for the "Back to Main Menu" button. i have moved Online Services to a sub menu that I have created and want to change to button text to just read "back". I've done the same for Weather, Detailed Setup and several others.

Can anyone tell me how to do this?

Thanks!

The easiest way I can describe to find it would be to do a search for "Back to Main Menu" (w/o the quotes) or "xxPrevMenu" (with the quotes). There are only a few of those.

Another great tool for finding where something on the screen corresponds to its location in the Studio is the 'UI Components' inspector.

Go to Debug->UI Components

Then that'll show you a tree of the memory model of the user interface on screen. And if you just follow the yellow box and keep navigating down the hierarchy; you'll always be able to find the component you're looking for. Then just right-click on it and you can then select to highlight the widget in the main Studio view (and if it's been themed you can select to highlight the themed source so you don't need to hunt for what's overriding how its being displayed)

(one thing to note is that it doesn't do the yellow highlight box for shape widgets; so those can be trickier to find on some occassions; but you'll at least be able to narrow it down significantly)

This is exactly what I do when I'm faced with the question of 'Where in the Studio is this thing I'm seeing on the screen?'

Hope that helps.

Thant's a great trick! Sometimes Ctrl-F doesn't find what I am looking for. This is a great way to navigate ... Thanks very much!

I gotta PDF this ...
