Having problems with the latest Beta Firmware
I just loaded the latest (20080519 0) this morning. Now I'm seeing problems when playing ripped dvds. I'll go to start the dvd and the Hd100 will just go blank. I look at the extender itself and the red and green light is on. I have to power off and on the extender to get it back up.
What gives? thanks

Problems with Audio on 6.4.3 and HD Extender
I am having two issues.
1. The analog audio output seems to override the HDMI output if a cable is plugged in. IE If I was using both outputs then only the analog would be active if the HD extender restarted. 2. Sound quality out of the HDMI option is poor. Everything sounds like slightly distorted. (MP4 Audio files, MV4 Ripped Movies, MPGs, etc..) But they seem just fine when played out of the analog audio. I have replaced the cables and check with several outputs. All the same. I also checked with all my HD extenders. (first generation, and now the new one). No difference. I have given up on HDMI audio for now. Just using analog. |

I'm kind of curious how it sounds distorted? I'm running my audio out the optical SPDIF and it sounds fine to me. I have a whole collection of music in AAC and some movies with AAC audio that all sound fine. Anything with AC3 or DTS audio gets the pass-through treatment to my receiver and of course it all sounds fine.
What did you select for your output source on the setup? You may try selecting optical even though you're using HDMI and see what comes out the HDMI port for audio. Here on the forums I've read that the HD100 won't do pass-through on HDMI unless you select optical as your audio source. So maybe this is something similar?

I don't know if it's the firmware, I think it might be the core. I'm using an old, poor man's MVP extender, and in 6.4.3 my DVD Rips hang up fairly regularly, requiring a reboot of the MVP. Not yet had time to check logs...
