SageTV and RDP or VNC problem
When I log into my SageTV server via RDP or VNC, the SageTV window is black. I am running Windows XP SP3 and the latest version of SageTV (6.3.10). Any ideas?

The problem has something to do with the remote display capabilities of RPD or XP remote desktop. When I use RDP to connect to my sage server I can never see anything but black in the window, unless I stop sage and then start it again. Then I get a warning from sage that says:
"SageTV will not run well at the current color depth. please change your color depth to 24 or 32 bits in control panel-->display-->settings" And sage opens and I can see it fine. This happens even if I set my RPC connection to use 24 or 32 bit color. I don't know how to change this behavior. I also use VNC and I don't have this problem (I can see and use Sage over VNC fine). I'm using VNC 4.1.2 but I'm running it User mode, not service mode (I didn't have good experience in Service mode). |
