HD fmt. NFS or no?

I'm at the point of incoming hardware, and came up w/ a question I've never seen addressed: Using w2k (maybe XP l8r), when I format my dedicated SageTV recording drive, should it be NFS or can it be FAT? I'd prefer the latter, so I can make it removable to transfer information between computers (wired still an issue so far). I know it should be 64k blocks (but not how yet; will figure out run-time when I get the drive).

While I'm at it, throw out one last one: is the recorded format on a Haup 250 basically a .mpg file? Want to make an archive of some children's shows, and need to understand the format to edit / archive / VCD them.

Thanks as always!

Definitely NTFS, that way you avoid the 2 or 4Gb file size limitations of FAT, it doesn't take too long to hit 4Gb, especially if you're using the 5.6Gb/hr setting.

Also, NTFS is suppose to be more resilient when it comes to crashes. FAT32 tends to get confused really easily.
