HELP: HDHR No Longer Working, Can't Figure Out Why?

Okay, my HDHR has been working flawlessly for several months now, and I've had no problems. It was a bear to setup to begin with, due to needing to use the same EPG information, but I finally found a way around it, using an EPG from another provider...but it looks like that provider is gone now, and I no longer get the channels I once had with it, it just looks like it is recording a blank screen, and is paused. (Now that Sage supports multiple "same" EPGs, I'm using that feature, just still can't get it to tune.)

So, I updated the firmware, as I'm several versions behind, along with the HDHR software. Now, I set everything up, per the instructions online, for the HDHR hooked up to my cable from Cox. I set it up to use QAM, and do the scan, etc.

I find the channels I once had, and am able to view them just fine in VLC. It's when I go into Sage, that I am not able to tune correctly. I notice on the status of the tuners, that when using VLC, I see that it says QAM, whereas when Sage tries to do it, I see auto:**** something.

I've remapped all the channels, per the directions, and still nothing, following the Digital Cable setup.

Anyone have any ideas?

You probably have some .frq files in your Sage directory from the old install. I'd delete those and then run the entire instructions again.

That seemed to do the trick! Thank you!

It seems that .frq files are not used anymore, correct? I don't see them after I've finished setting up the tuners.

A little problem though. I can't seem to get the second tuner setup right.

When I get the question, do I want to copy the lineup, or use the existing one, I have no idea which one it is talking about (the one for my analog tuners, or the other HDHR tuner I just setup). The channels don't seem to match either way I try and do it...

The option to copy the lineup will only appear after selecting an EPG provider, if it is already in use on another tuner using a different physical input type.

But, for the 2nd tuner, unless you want a different set of channels than the first HDHR tuner, you should be able to select the option to "Use an Existing Channel Lineup with this Source", found on the screen that asks whether/how to configure EPG data for the tuner. You should then be able to choose the copied lineup that is already in use on the other HDHR tuner (not the original lineup that was used as the basis for the copy).

Hmm...I'll read that over a few more times when I get home, and hope that I do it right.

The last time I tried it, it deselected all my channels in the "other" lineup. Oh, how frustrating that was...

Now I know why I had a text file with channel numbers in it, back from 2005. Guess it needs to be updated.

Thanks Opus.

Thanks Andy, never have used that option at the bottom. I just skipped over it too fast.

Thanks everyone, that seemed to fix everything!
