Win TV PVR USB2

Simple Noob questions..

1. How do you reset the USB2 device.

2. There is a red led lit on the device although the manual says nothing about what this is.. I'm having problems with the Infrared remote. Is this some kind of hardware warning light saying something isn't right ?

Thanks

J.

What is the problem causing a need to reset it? I have one too, but have never found a need to reset it.

However, there are a couple options, I would guess: reboot the machine and/or unplug the pvr-USB2 (both its power and USB2 connector) & reset those connections. A more drastic measure: reinstall its drivers. Don't forget to install the Hauppauge software for the remote.

As above, what is the problem you are having with the remote? (Oh, wait: weren't you saying that it failed to init the infrared device?)

On mine, the red light is always on. I would think that means that if the light is off, you need to reset it. (Hmmm... now I see the point of question #1.)

Well,

Let me try a total reboot.. Unplug everything.. See what happens there.. If that doesn't work... Hmm, maybe its time to do an Haupaggue uninstall/reinstall and see if that does the trick..

I did update my system bios hoping that was the cause.. no dice.

Thanks for the advice.

I usually just disconnect the power to the USB2 for a couple of seconds and connect it back. I never had to do this with Windows XP, but with Windows 2000, I have to reset the USB2 before every reboot of my machine, otherwise it won't start up correctly..

Also, since I switched to Windows 2000, the USB2 keeps defaulting to PAL, which is bad since I'm in NTSC land... So I always have to go into detailed settings after reboot to restore the settings. Very annoying.
